The Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), a constituent college of Sikkim Manipal University, is located on the banks of the river Teesta, amidst lush green hills in the state of Sikkim, India. Established in 1997, SMIT is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The institute earned the distinction of prestigious accreditation for its engineering disciplines from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) via ACCR-860/06, dated January 22, 2008. Additionally, SMIT holds ISO 9001 certification (NS-EN ISO 9001:2008) for all its courses.

The engineering college has its own dedicated campus at Majitar, Rangpo, in East Sikkim. The campus is safe, secure, and offers an excellent academic environment.
